Jim Sturdevant Paintings, A Fresh Look

Painting had always been a love for Jim Sturdevant.

After a career spent at EROS (Earth Resources Observation and Science), POET, and as an adjunct professor at the University of Sioux Falls, Sturdevant wanted to spend more time indulging his passion.

He’s painted an array of things — landscapes, waterfalls, neighborhoods, and recently golf courses.

Our friends up the road at Sutton Bay just received a painting of his last year. That work sparked a conversation between Jim and our founder, Paul Schock.

A few months later, Jim had completed two stunning paintings — one of 18 Pines and the other of 4 Dunes — that we’ll have featured in our Lodge this summer.
