Meet Rick Kimmes, Our New General Manager

News

June 1, 2021 —

As the club has expanded, the roles on-property have expanded along with it.

Back in the fall—after our busiest season in history—management took on the role of searching for additional leadership to bring the club into the future.

In mid-May, Rick Kimmes officially joined our team.

Rick (last name pronounced Kimm-ess) transplants to Cherry County from Minnesota after serving at the esteemed Edina Country Club from 2012 until 2021.

Rick brings an extensive roster of experience to our team.

“I am really excited to be here and I am looking forward to getting to know the family that is The Prairie Club, and that’s what it is, a family,” Rick said. “You can feel that it’s a family stepping on property.”

“From the membership, to our entire staff, this is a special place and I cannot wait to become part of it.”

Rick’s role will have him inside the Lodge from Front Desk operations, to Food & Beverage, to helping be another face to our membership.

At Edina Country Club, Rick occupied the roles of both Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director after starting in Minneapolis at The Oceanaire, a prominent restaurant in the Twin Cities. His time spent in the kitchen will be a valuable supplement to the team in place, along with every other area of the Lodge.

“I want to support TC, Becky, Mandi, Andi, and all of the existing people that make this place go.”

“I’ll leave the golf course work to the experts,” Rick joked.

Welcome to The Prairie Club, Rick!
