Merritt Reservoir Certified as International Dark Sky

Have you ever made a late night drive ahead of your stay with us, pulling into our roundabout after the sun bids farewell?

If so, you know how serene and peaceful nighttime is on the prairie. The stars and moon light the path.  It’s pitch black, but the sky shimmers.

This part of the world sure can be amazing.

Well, this week, the International Dark-Sky Association recognized this area for it’s nighttime, when the Merritt Reservoir SRA was certified as an International Dark Sky Park.

It’s the first to be recognized in the state of Nebraska.
