Note from Ross after 2016 Boot & Buckle
Hey Members,
I just want to start out by issuing a “thank you” to all the participants in this year’s Boot & Buckle–our 6th annual. I can honestly say, this year’s event was the best event we’ve ever hosted. This is true not only with member-oriented events, but any of any event.
We have an amazingly talented team and I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished over the last couple of years. Our efforts to get better every year showed with this year’s Boot & Buckle. It has truly all come together in a beautiful way. Our team of All-Stars are the drivers behind it, and they are great! Thank you again to all the Members and their guests who traveled to spend the weekend with us, we’re blessed to have such a great group of you.
Also, and perhaps more importantly, I’d like to say thank you to all the people that donated to our Prairie Club Scholarship Foundation. Donations started during the Closest-to-the-Pin challenge on the Old Wagon, with half of the entire pot going to the foundation.
From there, challenges from one country club to another started springing up and by the end, teams were challenging each other to match donations they had placed. All said, we raised over $3,500 for the foundation!
I cannot express how much this means to me, our Club down here, and the individuals who earn this award each year. We have some amazing young people in our community. Giving them an opportunity for employment at such an incredible place, along with presenting this special scholarship each year is one of the most rewarding parts of my position.
We are changing the lives of the next generation within our community. It is incredibly satisfying and I am blessed to do it. It is because of our great members and your donations, so I thank you.
Congratulations also, to all the winners of the flights, the winner of the Closest-to-the-Pin, and to all who joined us last weekend in the Sandhills.
As a final note, I wanted to mention the interest in the 7th annual Boot & Buckle. If you have an urge to play, sign-up as soon as possible. After speaking with Mandi, most of our 2016 field has proceeded to put their name in for 2017 already. Almost an entire year away, we’re already looking forward to next year.
Thank you all, and we’ll catch you around, Ross
