Spring Course Update | March 2017

Brandon's Course Updates

March 21, 2017—

Overall, all three courses and practice facilities look quite good. We’re very encouraged. The entire property received plenty of moisture this winter, thanks in large part to the many signature Nebraska blizzards we’ve faced (which we’ve been severely lacking in recent years). Even over the next few weeks, the area is scheduled for more scattered precipitation—which is good!

The greens on the Pines Course were completely cleaned off a few weeks ago and, last week, our staff got started with the greens on the Dunes Course. If you remember, all of our greens are covered with a layer of mulch during our winterizing process to protect the grass from undue exposure to the harsh elements.

It’s these types of preventative measures (and long hours in the fall) that leave Roger and the maintenance team in greater control of the turf conditions come spring. Last October, the courses were in exceptional shape, as many of your saw with your own eyes. We’re looking forward to carrying the momentum into Opening Day this year.

With the temperatures we’ve seen in late-February/March, we’re expecting May to be an awesome month of golf.
