Andrew Getty Joins Team as Dunes Superintendent

Last fall, when former Dunes Superintendent Jeff Wrage took an opportunity to move to Norfolk, his good friend Andrew Getty took note. 

Getty, a Valentinian since early 2019, had developed a relationship with both Jeff and DJ during his few years managing Frederick Peak Golf Club here in town.

In January, Getty was hired as our Dunes Superintendent entering the 2021 season.

When the opportunity arose for Getty to both advance his career and stay in Valentine — a town he’d come to love — he was very happy.

“I wanted to stay in Valentine and be involved in this community, so it’s awesome to be able to do that while progressing in my career at The Prairie Club,” said Getty.

He and his sidekick Maverick knew all about The Prairie Club prior to arriving on staff.

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Brandon, Roger, DJ and the entire team, and as I consider Jeff a friend, it’s going to be an honor to fill his shoes on the Dunes Course.”

Getty will be entrusted with GOLF.com’s 82nd course in America.
